Makenzie Diekhoff

So what is Your Life Matters? Our valued listeners have learned that it has to do with your life. Your Health. Your well being. We have presented to you authors who have written about their lives, what they have gone through with illness or addictions. Today we are going to do something slightly different. Something that I am sure will touch your hearts. We are going to talk today about Cystic Fibrosis. Cystic fibrosis is an inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system of about 30,000 children and adults in the United States (70,000 worldwide).
I said this show would be different and it is. Today we are going to talk to Makenzie Diekhoff. She joins us here today in our studio. Makenzie turns 19 today, December 2. Makenzie has Cystic Fibrosis. But the situation for Makenzie is even more intense. Please welcome to Your Life Matters Makenzie Diekhoff.

On Saturday, February 12, 2011 Jenn & Steve were saddened about the news that Makenzie Diekhoff had lost her battle with Cystic Fibrosis and had passed into the Lord's arms. We know she is now breathing without a mask, without pain and starting a new life with Jesus Christ.

Jennifer & Steve conducted an interview, here in our studios in Westport, Indiana with Makenzie while she was trying to raise funds for a double lung transplant, Unfortunately Makenzie's health gave out before she could get the procedure.

Anyone who has met this truly amazing woman will tell you of how inspired they were when they met her. She was only 19 years young! She knew how to live life, how to love and how to fight life's daily struggles. She will never be forgotten.
