Our guest today has a lot of interests and wears many hats. She is a combination author, parapsychologist, psychic, and artist. She created the image of three flames emerging from the psi symbol as a metaphor for parapsychology. The image speaks the three-prong effort by parapsychologists to enlighten ourselves and others about the three fields that they study: ESP, mind-matter interaction, and the survival of bodily death. We are proud to have on our show today, Dr. Pamela Heath.

Dr. Pamela Heath was born and raised in Missouri. She obtained a BA in psychology from the University of Missouri in Columbia in 1976, and an MD from the University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston in 1980. Dr. Heath has practiced medicine at a variety of locations, including serving as Chief of Anesthesia in Humana Hospital-Abilene, as Director of Education for the Anesthesia Department and a member of the Surgery Faculty in Orlando Regional Medical Center, on the faculty of Anesthesia at the University of Florida in Miami, and for two years as Chief of Anesthesia at Chinle Hospital on the Navaho Reservation.

Dr. Heath began having spontaneous psychic experiences in the early 1990s. In 1995, she returned to school for a second doctorate degree (Psy.D.), this time in parapsychology from the American School of Professional Psychology and Rosebridge Graduate School of Integrative Psychology in California.

Dr. Heath has 13 years experience investigating hauntings and spontaneous paranormal events, and has appeared on television as both as a parapsychologist and a psychic. She is a full member of the Parapsychological Association, a member of the Society for Scientific Exploration, an Associate of the Society for Psychical Research, and co-founder of the Paranormal Research Organization. She has published journal articles and textbook chapters on psychokinesis, place memory, experiential research, and the survival of bodily death. Her current books include The PK Zone and Suicide: What Really Happens in the Afterlife? (now also available in Spanish). Handbook to the Afterlife, will be also available in April 2010 and Mind-Matter Interaction: Historical Reports, Research and Firsthand Accounts will be released in hard copy and as a kindle edition e-book in Summer/Fall 2010.

Dr. Heath currently lives in the Bay Area of California.
